# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You’ll never stand over the stove for hours—just layer and bake, and it tastes like you fussed for ages.
  • The gooey fruit and warm cake meld into something that always has folks sneaking seconds when they think no one’s looking.
02 -
  • Once, I skipped draining the pineapple fully and got a soupy bottom—give it time in a strainer!
  • Melting the butter fully and drizzling it slowly is non-negotiable for avoiding dry cake mix clumps.
03 -
  • Scatter the cake mix with your hand, not a spoon, and you’ll get the most even layer.
  • Letting the dump cake cool for just 10 minutes reveals gooier fruit layers and helps flavors pop.
